Alaska Nurses Foundation: Promoting Alaska's Nursing Profession

The Alaska Nurses Foundation (AaNF) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing the public’s knowledge and understanding of the profession of nursing and factors affecting the health of all Alaskans, as well as, supporting research and education in the profession.

We support nurses doing research in areas where their passion for the practice shines. The health of Alaskans is important to every nurse who practices and we believe nurses have first hand knowledge and ideas how best to promote healthy Alaskans.

The following documents are available in both PDF and Word (.doc) format. The Word documents are easier to fill out on your computer, but if you don't use Word, you can Print out the PDF, fill it out, and send or fax it to us.

Structure

The Foundation membership, which is made up of RNs from across Alaska, elects a seven-member Board of Directors. The Board then elects a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. All directors are RNs; one RN member is a current member of the Alaska Nurses Association Board, and the AaNA President acts as an ex-officio member of the Foundation board. A shared Executive Director, with AaNA, is the only paid position at the Foundation. In addition to the elected officers, AaNF has active members who serve on the Awards Committee, the Nominations Committee, and the Membership Committee.
