At the Alaska Nurses Association, we look forward to honoring Alaska’s amazing nurses during Nurses Week. This year, our celebratory efforts were filled with joy as we gathered in-person for the first time since 2019.
With the help of the community, we held our seventh annual Kids Art Contest, asking Alaskan kids to create artwork under the theme “Nurses are our Heroes.” Our winners’ artwork, as well as all the entries, can be viewed at www.facebook.com/AlaskaNurses.
In addition, we hosted Nursing Narratives, an evening of storytelling, at the Beartooth Theatrepub. Our annual Love a Nurse Run 5K again went virtual, with AaNA member and artist Ashley Seabolt creating our one-of-a-kind shirt for participants. Thanks to everyone who participated and raised funds for the Foundation for Alaska Nurses.
It is always a privilege and honor for us to recognize the contributions of nurses in Alaska and to show our gratitude for our nursing colleagues. We hope to see you at our events next year!
