On Monday, December 15, we’re holding a major day of action to oppose unsafe staffing changes at PAMC.
Providence executives are planning to move forward with reducing bedside nurse staffing at PAMC on December 15. PCU and 4N will be the units immediately effected. This will impact other units and will pave the way for future reductions in other areas.
We need EVERYONE to turn out for the Safe Staffing Rally and leaflet action to raise the alarm and advocate for safe staffing! We also have a sign making session and more wear red days coming up. Read on for all the exciting details!
Safe Staffing Rally
Show up for the Safe Staffing Rally!
Join the Safe Staffing Rally on Monday, December 15 at 11:30 AM.
Meet at the northwest corner of Providence Drive & Alumni Drive.
Free parking is available at the UAA Library Lot and Central Garage. Do not park at Providence.
Bring a sign or get one when you arrive at the rally. No signs on sticks.
Bundle up for the weather, wear red, and bring your family and friends!
Safe Staffing Leaflet
Join the Safe Staffing Leaflet Action!
Participate in a leaflet action before the Safe Staffing Rally to spread the word about the importance of safe staffing!
We’ll meet in the PAMC Cafeteria on Monday, December 15 at 10:45 AM, complete our leaflet action, then head over to the Safe Staffing Rally.
We’re holding additional leaflet actions on Wednesday, December 17 and Friday, December 19 at noon. Sign up to leaflet so we can keep the pressure on Providence executives and stand up for safe staffing!
Signs & Snacks
Join us for sign making and snacks on Friday, December 12 from noon to 3:00 PM in the Aspen Room at PAMC.
Wear Red Days
Make sure you wear red and a safe staffing sticker on Friday, December 12 and Monday, December 15 to show your commitment to opposing unsafe staffing cuts at PAMC.
Extra credit: Take a photo of you & your coworkers wearing red (no badges, no patient info) and post it on Instagram and/or Facebook using the hashtags #AlaskaNurses and #PaintProvRed. And make sure you’re following @AlaskaNurses on Instagram and Facebook.
