The Fight to End TB in Alaska
Presented by Chanda Hesson, BSN, RN & Bruce Chandler, MD

It may be prehistoric, but it’s definitely not ancient history.

For over 200 years, tuberculosis has plagued our state – and cases are surging. In 2022, active TB cases increased by 66% in Alaska.

Join us to hear from two members of the State’s TB Team: Chanda Hesson, BSN, RN and Bruce Chandler, MD. Delve into the epidemiology of TB to discover how this disease affects the Alaskan population. You will learn about the distribution of cases in Alaska, specific risk factors, and reporting requirements. Our expert presenters will also discuss the role of public health in controlling and eliminating tuberculosis.
