Faith Community Nursing

Tuesday Talks is back! Join us at the first Tuesday Talks of 2024 to learn about faith community nursing. Faith community nursing, a specialty recognized by the American Nursing Association since 1998 (then Parish Nursing) uses nursing knowledge, combined with intentional care of the spirit, to assist members of faith communities and other faith-based organizations to maintain and/or regain wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.
This presentation will explore the nuances of faith community nursing, how beneficial it is for clergy and faith community leaders, and the role of a faith community nurse. As research supports, spiritual care of patients results in increased positive outcomes. Understanding the difference between spiritual and religious is one important caveat and provides the ability for nurses in all settings to utilize the skills obtained through the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course.
How to Register
Registration is required. After registering, you will receive an email with your personal link to join the presentation on Zoom. Please plan to join the webinar a few minutes early. You must attend a minimum of 90% of the event and complete an online evaluation to receive contact hours.

Tuesday Talks is a free educational series created specifically for Alaskan nurses. Every month, we explore a unique and enriching topic with a local expert. Designed to elevate your nursing knowledge and practice, Tuesday Talks offers free contact hours to participants. The event series is hosted on Zoom and welcomes nurses across Alaska. Attendance is open to both AaNA members and non-members.
