Leadership and Governance
BOARD MEMBERS
Each of our board members are dedicated to serving the voices of AaNA through governing our organization. Our board members are elected each year through a nomination process that runs from August to September. Our Alaska Nurses Association members then vote to elect our board members. All terms begin October 15th and last for two years. The AaNA Board of Directors Election is open to all AaNA members in good standing, except our Associate Members.
Kimberly Kluckman, RN, currently serves as Treasurer of the AaNA Board of Directors. Kim is a resident of Anchorage, Alaska and has worked as a staff nurse in Adult Critical Care at Providence Alaska Medical Center since 2009.
Jane Erickson, ADN, RN, CCRN has 34 years of experience as an RN and currently serves as president of the AaNA Board of Directors. Jane is a resident of Palmer, Alaska and has worked as a staff nurse in Adult Critical Care (ACC) at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage since 1986. Jane has been active in AaNA since arriving in Alaska and has enjoyed attending meetings, volunteering for a variety of events, and supporting the labor program. Before moving to Alaska, Jane was involved with the California Nurses Association from 1982 – 1986. She is also an active member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).

Beth Farnstrom, BSN, RN has 38 years of nursing experience and currently serves as a director at large for the AaNA Board of Directors. Beth is a resident of Anchorage, Alaska and has worked as a staff nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Providence Alaska Medical Center since 1999. Beth also serves as a faith community nurse at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and is a past member and past chair of the Alaska Board of Nursing. Beth is an active participant in the AaNA legislative committee, a contributing author to The Alaska Nurse magazine, and has served as AaNA’s director of professional practice since 2014.
Cindy Booher, PhD, RN serves as a Director at Large on the AaNA Board of Directors. Throughout her career, Cindy has worked in a variety of settings, including orthopedic acute care, home hospice, neuro ICU, and long-term care. She has also worked as a school nurse, professor of nursing, and case manager. She currently serves as the Director of Nursing at Providence Extended Care. Cindy lives in Anchorage, Alaska with her husband, who is also a nurse, and their teen son.

Donna is a resident of Girdwood, Alaska and works as a staff nurse in Adult Critical Care at Providence Alaska Medical Center, where she has been employed since 1994. Donna has served as Labor Council Chair since 2011 and previously from 2002 – 2010. She also serves as Health & Safety Officer for Providence Registered Nurses and has been serving as Providence Registered Nurses treasurer for over 20 years total. She served as Treasurer for the AaNA Board of Directors from 2007 – 2011. Donna currently serves on the Anchorage Central Labor Council, Alaska State Federation of Labor, and the PAMC Safe Patient Handling Committee, which works to decrease exposure to Musculoskeletal Disorders for health care workers. Donna holds a BSN from the University of Illinois.
