AaNA Board of Directors Election
Positions to be Elected
This election will fill four positions on the AaNA Board of Directors:
The Greater Alaska Director position may be filled by either a) a nurse living or working at least 50% of the time outside the Municipality of Anchorage, or b) an LPN.
The Rural Director position may be filled by a nurse living or working at least 50% of the time outside the Municipality of Anchorage and the Fairbanks North Star Borough.
In the event that nominations are not forthcoming for the Greater Alaska Director position or the Rural Director position, the positions will default to any other nominee or appointee.

Terms of Office
All terms begin October 15, 2025. All positions are two-year terms ending October 14, 2027, except for the Greater Alaska Director position, which is a one-year term ending October 14, 2026.
Eligibility
Running for a position in the AaNA Board of Directors election is open to all AaNA members in good standing, except for Associate members. Union-represented non-members are also not eligible to run for office.
AaNA Joint Board of Directors & Labor Council Election
This election will fill three jointly-held positions on the AaNA Board of Directors and the AaNA Labor Council:
- Treasurer (Board) & Treasurer (Labor Council)
- Staff Nurse Director (Board) & Secretary (Labor Council)
- Director at Large (Board) & Director (Labor Council)
Candidates are elected to two positions and serve simultaneously in both: one position on the Board of Directors, and one position on the Labor Council.

All terms begin October 15, 2025. All positions are two-year terms ending October 14, 2027.
Eligibility
Running for a position in the AaNA Joint Board of Directors & Labor Council election is open to all AaNA union members in good standing, who have maintained membership in good standing for at least 6 months prior to August 11, 2025.
Union members are members represented in or retired from an AaNA bargaining unit at Providence Alaska Medical Center, PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center, Central Peninsula Hospital & Heritage Place, or Providence at Home with Compassus Anchorage. Union-represented non-members are not eligible to run for office.
AFT Convention Delegates Election
This election will select up to ten delegates to represent AaNA at the national level at the 2026 AFT Convention:

Eligibility
Running for a position in the AFT Convention Delegates election is open to all AaNA union members in good standing. Union-represented non-members are not eligible to run for office.
Candidates must be willing and able to attend the 2026 AFT Convention in Washington DC on July 16-19, 2026. Please note these dates do not include travel time.

All candidates must fill out and submit the appropriate Consent to Serve form by 11:59 PM on August 11, 2025.
