Common Areas of Confusion in the Perioperative Care of Orthopedic Patients
Presented by Lars Matkin, MD, MBA

Today, more patients than ever are benefitting from orthopedic surgery. But their perioperative care can be complex and challenging.

Join us at Tuesday Talks this month to hear from Dr. Lars Matkin, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and upper and lower extremity surgery.

Learn from Dr. Matkin as he shines a light on common areas of confusion in perioperative orthopedic care, including:

  • Total hip precautions — why do they exist? and why do some patients not have them?
  • Weight bearing precautions after surgery and why it matters
  • DVT prophylaxis after orthopedic surgery
  • Antibiotics around surgery and why orthopedics uses so much of them
