The Families
The Reindeer Family
The Reindeer Family consists of Mom, Dad, and their 6-year-old son. Mom is a first-generation immigrant who works hard to support her family, including her grandmother (who helped raise her) who has had multiple strokes. The family’s finances are tight this holiday season.
The Gingerbread Family
The Gingerbread Family consists of Mom, Dad, and their two sons. Dad is deployed through Feb. 2025. Mom recently gave birth and is unable to go back to work until Dad returns. Her short-term disability pay has run out and they will be on a single income until Dad gets home.
The Candy Cane Family
The Candy Cane Family consists of Mom and her two daughters. Mom became a solo parent this year shortly after giving birth. She’s limited to working part-time due to childcare. The financial and emotional stress has been immense for this family.
The Jingle Bell Family
The Jingle Bell Family consists of Mom, Dad, and their three sons. Mom recently gave birth after a difficult pregnancy that included two hospitalizations and several weeks of bedrest. The family will soon be without Mom’s income when her short-term disability runs out.
The Snowman Family
The Snowman Family consists of Mom, Dad, two children, and two grandmothers. Mom is recovering from a recent pulmonary embolism and hospitalization. She is the family’s sole provider and finances are tight while she unable to work.
