The 2023 Board of Directors, Labor Council & AFT Convention Delegates Elections are approaching and we want YOU to become a leader!

AaNA Board of Directors Election

This election will fill three (3) positions on the AaNA Board of Directors:

  • President
  • Rural Director
  • Director at Large

Running for a position in the AaNA Board of Directors Election is open to all AaNA members in good standing, except for Associate members.

All terms begin October 15, 2023. Positions are two-year terms ending October 14, 2025.

AaNA Joint Board of Directors & Labor Council Election

This election will fill three (3) jointly-held positions on the AaNA Board of Directors and the Labor Council:

  • Labor Council Treasurer / Board Treasurer
  • Labor Council Secretary / Board Staff Nurse Director
  • Labor Council Director / Board Director at Large

Candidates are elected to two (2) positions and serve simultaneously in both: one (1) position on the Board of Directors, and one (1) position on the Labor Council.

Running for a position in the AaNA Joint Board of Directors and Labor Council Election is open to all AaNA Labor members in good standing, who have been in good standing for a minimum of six (6) months prior to August 30, 2023. Labor members are members of Providence Registered Nurses (at Providence Alaska Medical Center), Ketchikan Nurses (at PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center), or RNs United (at Central Peninsula Hospital & Heritage Place). Nurses who are Fair-Share Fee Payers or are otherwise in a non-member status are not eligible to run for office or vote.

AFT Convention Delegates Election

This election will select a maximum of ten (10) delegates to represent AaNA on the national level at the 2024 AFT Convention.

Running for a position as an AFT Convention Delegate is open to all AaNA Labor Members in good standing. Nurses who are Fair-Share Fee Payers or are otherwise in a non-member status are not eligible to run for office or vote.

Candidates must be willing and able to attend the 2024 AFT Convention in Houston, Texas on July 21-26, 2024.

Nominations Requirements for Candidates

All candidates must fill out and submit the appropriate Consent to Serve form by 5:00 PM on August 30, 2023. Forms should be submitted to geri@aknurse.org.
